Teaching Concept:
Jesus is our best example of meekness. He treated everyone with respect, humility, and love. In this lesson children learn what it means to be meek and how they can become meek.
Color or Paint a Flower and Bee Color Sheet
Daisies are bright spots in any field. People who leave them to grow soon discover that they can quickly take over an entire field creating a sight to behold. Daisies can remind us that kindness and gentleness are much more effective than forcefulness. Those who are meek will conquer evil and inherit the earth.
In class have your children color or paint the picture. As they work talk about flowers, specifically daises.

Bee Bible Verse Bookmarks
Children color the bookmark, dip their fingers in paint and dab them on the back of the bookmark. When the paint is dry have them draw strips, eyes, and antennae on the fingerprints to make bees.
Cut about two inches off the end of a Chenille stem, fold it in half, and then tape it to the back of one side of the bookmark. To finish glue the folded halves together.

2. Fold the paper plate in half again. Fold back the pointed ends, and then fold them forward.
3. Open up the folded plate a little and push folded sides into the center of the paper plate. Glue the sides together. (See Diagram.)
4. Cut a slit in the back of the head. Overlap the paper plate in the back and glue it together to make a dart. This will make the mouth open slightly. Crease the front, bottom of the paper plate to make the mouth. (See diagram.)
5. To make the bee's body fold a 6-inch paper plate in half. Glue the head to the body.
6. Cut wing shapes from tissue paper or a white plastic bag. Scrunch up the end that connects to the body and glue them under the head.
7. Cut Chenille stems in half, fold them into leg shapes and then glue them to the body as shown in the picture. You can punch holes in the body paper plate and insert the legs into the holes and tape them to the inside of the body.
8. To finish, cut the eyes from the pattern (or draw them) and glue them to the head. Place the Bible verse card in the bee's mouth. Use a piece of tape to secure the card to the mouth.

Collecting Pollen Bible Lesson Review Game
In class give each child a bee pattern and tell him or her to color it and draw a face on it. Let your children place their bees on any of the flowers of the game board. To play children take turns rolling a die and then moving that many spaces forward or backward on the game board trying to land on a flower with pollen. If a child answers a question correctly, he gets to keep the pollen if the flower they landed on still had pollen on it. The child with the most pollen pieces at the end of the game wins.
