Tom Turkey
Help children understand the problem with pride through the story of Tom, a very proud turkey who thinks his beautiful feathers make him special. When things do not go quite as Tom expects, he learns an important lesson about humility. Use this lighthearted story as an introduction or follow-up to the account of King Herod in Acts 12:20–25, helping children connect Herod’s desire for praise with an everyday example they can easily understand.
The story includes four printable color illustrations to use as you read, plus a simple coloring sheet for younger children. For older children, a fill-in-the-speech-bubble activity sheet encourages them to think about what Tom learned and put the lesson about pride into their own words.
