Christian Symbols Easter Egg Hunt and Lift-the-Flap Game for Children
The following Easter game is available to members on The Resource Room and as an instant digital download. It includes a "The Lord is Risen" Game Board, Lift-the-flap tabs, and twelve Easter Symbol egss.
Children hunt for the Easter eggs, explain how the symbols relate to the Easter story and then take turns lifting the flaps that match the eggs they found. The child who figures out the Easter saying first wins.
Children search for the Easter Symbol Eggs and then use the eggs to help them discover an Easter message.
1. Before class print out the game board and glue the Easter symbol flaps over the letters in any order using paper glue.
2. Print out the twelve Easter Symbol eggs onto cardstock and cut them out.
3. Hide the twelve Easter symbol eggs around the classroom. Use tape to tape them to the bottom of tables and chairs, on the back of chairs, and on the walls.
4. On the word "go" each student should try to find only one Easter egg and then go sit down in the order that the eggs were found. When all twelve eggs are found, ask the first student to show the class his egg and describe what is on the egg and how it relates to the Easter story. Then remove the matching flap from the game board. Ask that student if he knows what the saying is from the letters that are revealed.
Note: Two of the letters will have the same symbol, so the children who find those symbols will have two letters revealed on their turns.
5. Keep playing until all the children have shown their Easter eggs and had a chance to guess the Easter saying.
