Armor of God - Shoes of Peace Games
Shoes of Peace Relay Race
What you will need:
Pairs of Very Large Shoes
Painter's Tape - Use it to mark start and finish lines.
How to Play:
1. Break the children up into teams.
2. Have your students take off their shoes.
3. Give the first child in each team a pair of shoes and have them put them on.
4. To play, team members take turns putting on the shoes, racing to a line at the other end of the room and then racing back so the next child in line does the same thing. The team that finishes first wins.
5. If you have younger children, just let them practice walking in large shoes. They will probably not even have to remove their own shoes.
Touch and Feel Game with the Feet
Before class collect a bunch of things with different textures such as cotton balls, wet sponge, ice cubes, snow, gravel, sand, some warm rice that was heated up in the microwave for a few minutes, etc. Place all the items in separate grocery bags. You may have to place some in bowls first. Have the children take turns putting their bare feet in the bags to feel all the items. Then ask the children what they think the items might be.
Whose Shoes are These? Game
Have all the children take their shoes off. If you have very young children, you can just have them take one shoe off. Place all the shoes in a row in the front of the room. Have the children take turns going to the front of the room, picking a pair of shoes (or shoes) that isn't theirs, and trying to find the person the shoes belong to.
