You Are There!
God, where can I hide from you?
Where can I run from you?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there.
If I go down into the deep, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
even there your hand will guide me,
Your right hand will hold me fast.
I cannot hide in the darkness.
The night shines like the day because darkness is like light to you!

Hide and Seek, You Can't Hide From God Activity Sheet - Psalm 139:7
Children color the picture and then glue arms on the picture that can be folding and unfolded revealing the child's eyes. They also play "Hide aSeek" with paper figures.
This activity sheet includes the following poem and the Bible verse Psalm 139:7:
Come and play “Hide and Seek”
Close your eyes, and don’t you speak
You can hide if you sneak,
But not from God, because
he always peeks!
As your children work talk about the game "Hide and Seek". Ask them if they like to play the game, and if they ever hid somewhere so that no one could find them. Tell them that they can never be hide from God no matter how hard they try. God is everywhere and sees everything. Have them help you look up the following Bible verses:
Proverbs 15:3 - "The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good."
Jeremiah 23:23 - "Am I a God who is near," declares the LORD, "rather than a God who is far away?"
Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Psalm 139:4 - “Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD”
Psalm 139:1-3 - “O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways”
Psalm 33:13-15 - “From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth—he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.”
Hebrews 4:13 - “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account”
Luke 12:7 - “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
Play "Hide and Seek" - Hand out 4" x 5" sheets of paper and tell your students to draw pictures of themselves and write their names on their papers. Pick one child to be the "seeker". Tell the other children to hide their papers with pictures of themselves around the room. Tell them that they are not allowed to fold their papers. The child whose picture is found last gets to be the "seeker" in the next game.
Play "If I Go ___________ God is There."
Younger Children: Have your children sit in a circle on the floor. Roll a small truck or car towards one of the children and say, "If I go to school, God is there." Tell the child who gets the truck to roll it to another child and say the same thing, except pick a different place. He may say something like, "If I go to the park, God is there." He then rolls the car to another child. Keep playing until all the children have had a turn.
Older Children: Have all the children sit in a circle. Start by saying, "If I go ___________, God is there." (Fill in the blank.) Then have the child on your right repeat what you said and then say the same thing only change the place. The next child would repeat the first two sentences and then add a new one. Keep playing until it comes back to you.
